THE SUGARMAN:

Born and raised in Bristol's rich culture of creative rebellion, I am a contemporary artist and experimentalist whose practice is rooted in radical independence. I believe that the process of mastering a craft is an artistic statement in itself. Because of this, I am entirely self-taught across my entire body of work...

My work looks beyond the surface of the physical object, utilising these varied media to conduct conceptual art experiments. Through my practice, I explore:

• The Architecture of Value: Questioning how worth is assigned to art, objects, and labour in modern society.

• Social Exchange: Examining the unspoken contracts and interactions between people, systems, and environments.

• Metaphysical Frequency: Investigating the unseen energy, resonance, and spiritual weight carried by physical and digital creations.

By merging gritty, hands-on fabrication with high-level conceptual theory, my art invites the viewer to question not just what they are looking at, but the unseen forces that brought it into existence.
